Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies Collection; Radical Reformation Collection. Mennonite Brethren Historical Library (about 17,700 volumes) contains published material (books, periodicals and audio-visuals) relating to biblical studies, theology, missions, education, art, literature and other topics. While the primary collection focus of the historical library is the Mennonite Brethren Church, it also holds a wide range of materials relating to other Mennonite groups in North America and around the world, including the Amish and Hutterites. There are also approximately 810 feet of archival non-published records. The library also houses ERIC documents back through 1982. |

On Fresno Pacific University's main campus, the AIMS Hall of Mathematics and Science is home to the San Joaquin Valley's only Foucault Pendulum. One of four in the state of California, the pendulum has a 235-pound polished brass ball suspended from the second-story ceiling of AIMS Hall. Throughout the day, the pendulum knocks down a circle of pegs, located on the foyer floor, illustrating the earth's rotation in a harmonious depiction of the ties between math and science. The Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies is also located on the FPU campus. This library and archive is open to the public, free of charge, and serves as the official archives of the Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, Mennonite Brethren Mission and Service International, Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary and the university. Historical information about Mennonite Brethren and other North American Mennonite groups, including the Amish and Hutterites, is contained in the center's impressive collection of over 18,400 cataloged library volumes and more than 800 linear feet of processed archival records. Located in the majestic Sierra Nevada is Fresno Pacific University's private retreat facility, Casa Pacifica. Ideal for team-building activities and relaxation, Casa Pacifica hosts hundreds of university faculty, staff and students throughout the year. Since 1981, the Activities Integrating Mathematics and Science (AIMS) Education Foundation has been serving students in grades K-9 across the United States. The AIMS Research Library contains more than 12,500 volumes related to the fields of math, science and education. The library is available for use by university faculty and students at no charge. An outgrowth of the graduate math/science program of Fresno Pacific University, the AIMS Foundation creates curriculum that provides users with an experiential, hands-on approach integrating math, science and other disciplines. |
