The University?s 3.6 million volumes of holdings are located in several library facilities. Headquartered in the landmark Rush Rhees Library, the River Campus Libraries hold about 2.9 million volumes and provide access to an extensive collection of electronic, multimedia, and interlibrary loan resources. In addition to Rush Rhees, the libraries include the Art and Music Library, the Chester F. Carlson Science Library (science & engineering), the Government Documents & Microtext Center, the Koller-Collins Graduate English Center, the Laboratory for Laser Energetics Library, the Management Library, the Multimedia Center, the Physics-Optics-Astronomy (POA) Library, the Rossell Hope Robbins Library, and the Department of Rare Books, Special Collections and Preservation. Housing nearly three quarters of a million items, the Sibley Music Library of the Eastman School of Music is the largest music library affiliated with a college or university in the United States. A resource for health care and medical research, Miner Library's print collections include more than 230,000 volumes of journals, books, theses, and government documents. Located at the Medical Center, the library maintains an extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts as well as access to online databases and electronic resources. Located in the Memorial Art Gallery, the Charlotte Whitney Allen Art Library is a research center that supports Gallery programs and functions. It maintains research collections relating to art, art history, and museum studies.

Meliora Weekend combines Alumni Homecoming, Reunion and Family Weekend in a nationally acclaimed fall celebration of the values of an educated life. The Weekend, which attracts about 6, 000 alumni, parents, students, and community residents annually, presents programs and performances by alumni, faculty, and some of our nation's finest speakers and entertainers. Wilson Day: A day of community service for all incoming University students. This event has been a freshman tradition at the University for 13 years. Freshmen, transfer students and some graduate students spend the day working with faculty, staff, and Community Service Network volunteers. Projects include neighborhood picnics, voter registrations, painting, landscaping, meal service, and various other service efforts. Yellowjacket Weekend: Join the UR community for a fun-filled day of music, food, carnival rides, vendors, games, and a spirit-raising kickoff to the football season. Convocation: Faculty, staff, and students of The College celebrate the beginning of the new academic year. Boars Head Dinner: This annual medieval scrumptious feast features the University acappella groups and top University administrators adorned in period attire. Dandelion Day: This outdoor festival, held in late April, gives students an opportunity to enjoy the weather with music, fun, and games before final exams occur. WinterFest Weekend: This community weekend features a major comedian, collaborative programming that appeals to a wide range of students, casino night, and other events.
