Library Facilities: |
Two subject-specific resource facilities on the Longview campus exist to fulfill the special needs of the School of Education and the School of Engineering. These resource rooms are conveniently located in the Education Center and in the Glaske Center for Engineering, Science and Technology. The Teacher Education Curriculum Laboratory holds materials loaned from the Region VII Education Service Center in order to ensure currency with the state's TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) curriculum and variety of content. In addition, LeTourneau University serves as a repository for non-circulating copies of the State Board of Education's adopted textbooks for Texas P-12 schools. The Engineering Resource Room includes engineering references as selected by the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology. Working adults enrolled in the non-traditional programs of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies have access to the library's electronic services equal to that of those enrolled in the traditional program at the university's Longview campus. In addition, the Austin, Bedford, Dallas, and Houston Educational Centers furnish learning resource centers on site. Faculty and students in the School of Graduate and Professional Studies are issued TexShare cards, which grant them reciprocal-borrowing privileges and access to the collections and services at any public or private library in the state of Texas. |
